ANDREWS
(Bent Tab)

This type of tab is made in one piece, accurately ground to specified thickness, beveled along both ends, bent to fit around the end of the saw and riveted in place. It is generally used on American Cant Gang Saw Machines in mills where the head rig has slabbed or cut the log down to dimension sizes. On the larger size gang saw machines, 4 cants 10" or 12" can be cut at the same time by stacking 2 side by side.

SWEDISH

(Split Tab)

The Swedish or Split Type of Tab consists of two separate parts. Each part is accurately ground to specified thickness, is beveled along the lower edge and is fastened to the saw by rivets. This type of tab is used on both Round Log and Cant Swedish Gang Saw Machines. Complete specifications of old saw must be given when ordering, or furnished old saw, if possible. This will avoid any misunderstanding and insure prompt delivery of the correct saw.

GERMAN

(Single or Split Tab)

This type of tab is used for sawing round logs on German design Gang Saw Machines. Older model machines have a single tab riveted to each end of the saw on alternate sides. The latest model machines use split or double tabs similar to the Swedish type. The German type tab however is drilled and slotted for hangers. In ordering, give machine model number in addition to other required specifications or furnish old saw, if possible.
